What happens to your photo
In one line: we use it to make your print, and then we delete it. The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence.
What we do with it
- We send it to an AI image service to produce the artwork in the style you chose.
- We build your print file from that artwork and add any text you typed.
- Once you have paid, our print partner receives the finished print file so they can print and ship it.
That is the complete list. Your photo is not sold, not shared with advertisers, not published anywhere, and not used to train any model — ours or anyone else's.
How long we keep it
- If you never order — 7 days
- Uploads and previews from an abandoned design are deleted automatically, along with the design itself.
- If you do order — 30 days after printing
- We keep the files that long so we can reprint without asking you to upload again if something goes wrong in transit. After that the image files are deleted. The order record itself stays, because we are required to keep proof of what was sold.
- If you ask us to keep it — up to 365 days
- Only if you explicitly opt in, and only for as long as you want. Withdraw at any time and the normal deletion date applies again.
Who can see it
Uploaded photos and previews are stored privately and served only through one-time links tied to your own session or order — they are never left in a public folder. Our own support screens deliberately do not display customer photographs; staff investigating an order see the order, not the face.
Photos of children
Please only upload a photo of a child if you are their parent or guardian, and only upload photos of other adults with their agreement. We treat these images exactly as described above and delete them on the same schedule.
Delete it sooner
Write to support@craftedlikeyou.com from the address you ordered with, tell us your order number, and we will delete your images and confirm when it is done. If your order has not been printed yet, deleting the photo also cancels the order — we cannot print without it.
Cookies and advertising
Separate matter, same principle. The banner you saw on your first visit records whether you allow measurement cookies, and that decision is honoured everywhere — including by the parts of our system that report a completed purchase back to an ad platform hours later. Your photo is never part of what is measured.
